OpenScape - Productivity delivered Presence-aware applications synchronize people with the information they need, thereby enabling smarter, more productive ways of working. However, the key that unlocks the potential of real-time  communications and collaboration is an innovative presenceaware interface. The ‘killer’ application for now and the foreseeable future is Siemens OpenScape, the suite of real-time, presence-aware software. However, Siemens has also recognized the need for an open development environment, so Intelidata and others 3rd party development organizations can add additional layers of innovation on top of the open development environment.

 

 

OpenScape - a groundbreaking suite of presence-aware applications that boost individual and workgroup productivity and reduce stress at the workplace.

This can be the intuitive, graphical browser, as shown here; a telephony
user interface or a natural language speech interface, which allows the applications to be employed via a mobile phone using our Windows Pocket PC software Cignon.

Server Operating Systems

  • HiPath OpenScape Communication Broker and MCU run on Windows Server 2003. Media Server runs on Windows 2000.

Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003 (LCS)

  • LCS contains the SIP proxy and registrar functions. LCS provides instant messaging, presence, and peer-to-peer communications.

Microsoft Active Directory

  • HiPath OpenScape users are members of a Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 Active Directory forest. Active Directory is a mandatory part of the system because LCS user authentication is based on Active Directory.

Microsoft Exchange 2000

  • The HiPath OpenScape applications interact with users’ Exchange message store, calendar, contacts, and folders.

System Database

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is used for the data repository.

SIP Gateway

  • SIP gateways provide connectivity between the LCS / HiPath OpenScape SIP network and telephony networks.
